Reykjavik City Tour
See the North Most Capital of the North the obvious sights and the harder to find ones as well. Some of the sights included are the City Center, the Parliament House and City Hall.
Short walk or drive around the City Center and Major Sights and Buildings pointed out and it’s History Told. The new Concert and Conference Hall Harpa is visited possibly Reykjavík’s new Landmark along with the Hallgímskirkja the big Church on the Hill which we will also pay a visit and optional go up in the Tower for an Exceptional View of the City.
The Glass Dome the Pearl is another panoramic viewing Platform by the Reykjavík Airport with the option of visiting the Viking Museum that hosts one of the hot water reservoir tanks the Pearl is built upon, the nearby Thermal Beach Nauthólsvík is close by. The National Museum is visited and the Nordic House.
Depending on Interest we could either continue to explore more museums: Culture House, Reykjavík 871 or some of Reykjavik’s Art Museums to name a few. Or we could go and see more Nature and Outdoors site in the City’s Proximity like Elliðárdalur with Reykjavik’s old power plant form 1921 and Árbæjarsafn the City’s Folk Museum and Drive through Heiðmork a large outdoors area just east of the city. Go to Bessastaðir and visit the church and see if we run into the president or the first lady walking the dog. Great way to get a good feel for the City and the Culture of Iceland.
